Double murderer Ian Huntley has himself now been murdered in prison by another brutal convicted killer inmate. Huntley died on Friday 6 March 2026 in Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary after an horrific beating to the head with a metal pole, which event is a whole two decades after renowned journalist Peter Hitchens wrote the above piece in the Mail on Sunday on 10 September 2006. Peter Hitchens was correct to call for the death penalty for the likes of Ian Huntley - and why not, for cases where guilt is 100% certain and proven? It IS more humane and cost-effective to swiftly dispatch the likes of Huntley to an appointment with his maker. BUT the British establishment would not and will not hear of it ... and cannot bring themselves to reintroduce the death penalty in cases where guilt is dead-certain (forgive the pun). We need fresh thinking and a complete change in direction in this country do we not? Ha! But it will never happen with the elite run-of-the-mill liberal bores we have in charge nowadays.

Rest in peace with God by your side Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman - the 10-year-old schoolgirls inexplicably killed by school caretaker Ian Huntley.
